Arowhon Pines is fully booked for the rest of the 2021 season; we are taking bookings for 2022 at this time.
Autumn Guests with Reservations:
Algonquin Park is busy in the fall, especially during the weekends. If you arrive at either the West or East Gate and Algonquin Park has reached capacity, visitors will not be permitted to enter. This absolutely does not affect registered guests of Arowhon Pines. Drive through and do not stop to pay for a permit; we will provide you one upon arrival. Weekend guests should know that Park trails are busy, your favourites might be closed and parking lots full; traffic on Highway 60 is slow and (gasp) you might not make it back for lunch! Enjoy our trails instead that start from our property. If you do venture out, make sure that you bring your park permit and display it on your dashboard. Stay safe.
Open: June 25 - October 11, 2021

Weekly Stays: A full 7 nights of peace and tranquility includes a day “on the house”. Stay for seven nights and pay for six!
Children (aged 12 and under) sharing a room with 2 adults: pay one half the double occupancy rate. Children booked into a room to themselves, no matter the age, are charged full adult rates.

Families - Parents must ensure that their children preserve the calm and quiet environment in the cabins, around the grounds (especially on the main dock) and in the dining room. We have limited “family accommodation”. We encourage parents to register their children for an early dinner at 5:30 pm followed by group babysitting until 8 pm while the parents dine. Children’s menu options are available at every meal.
Accommodation - Rooms have either one queen bed or two twin sized beds - ideal for two people! Twin beds can be made into a “king”. We add a rollaway bed for a 3rd person in the room. Some rooms in our family accommodation, in addition to bed(s) for adults, have an alcove with bunk beds for children. We guarantee specified accommodation for 4 or more night stays. For shorter stays, be assured that we try our best to fulfill your requests, but cannot guarantee.
Most of the time, we can guarantee Private Cabins and Rooms in 2 Room Cabins if staying for 4 nights or more. They are very popular and book quickly, usually with week-long stays.
Private cabins all have king size beds.
There are a few fully wheelchair accessible rooms with ramp, wider doors, a “wheel-in” shower unit and more.
Bathrooms have a walk-in shower unit or tub.
In your rooms: hair dryer, bathrobes, locally made face & body soap and shampoo/conditioner (also available for sale), electric baseboard heat. Available upon request - iron and ironing board, raised toilet seats and tub chairs. We're family here - if you need something, please ask.
All rooms, lounges, decks, main dock, and dining room including verandah are non-smoking. There are two designated outside smoking areas.

What To Bring
- Casual sporty clothes
- Sturdy boots for walking and sneakers or sandals for the boats
- Water bottle
- No matter what the season, a sweater for cooler nights and rain gear. In September and October, bring a warm jacket.
Pets - Sorry, pets are not allowed. We are happy to recommend Happy Tails Pet Resort in Huntsville.
Atmosphere - We aim for a quiet and peaceful atmosphere where guests can explore and experience nature in Algonquin Park, read peacefully, swim and relax undisturbed around the grounds. There are no TV’s or telephones in your room and no motor boats on the lakes (with the exception of our pontoon boat used for tours and emergencies). Please be respectful of others at all times. We ask that there be no noise in your room or common lounges after 10 pm – if you wish to socialize a little later, please move to the Games Room.
We are busy in the summer months. If you wish total peace and tranquility, we suggest booking time during the off season in the spring, early July and early September – often then, you will have the trails and lakes to yourselves.
Telephones - There are 2 telephone booths on the Arowhon grounds that will connect you to the outside world. Pay phone charges on your credit card are excessive - bring a phone card.
Cell phone reception is good up and down Highway 60. The service is creeping but still sporadic on our grounds. We do NOT provide WIFI for guests. If you happen to receive a signal, or text, please keep it to yourself. Arowhon is a place to detach from the demands of technology. Nobody wants to see people talking on their phones in the middle of Algonquin Park!
Arowhon is secluded from modern life. There is free WI-FI available at the Algonquin Park Visitor’s Center or Dwight Library. For absolute cyberspace emergencies, we have a top secret bunker with laptop and internet access (not WI-FI) for our guests. It is best to plan to be incommunicado.
Power Outages: We are in a remote area 8 km off the highway. Power outages happen and generally last less than 12 hours. However, in extreme weather, longer power outages do happen as well. Please note that our kitchen and dining room remain operational and we will do everything to make you comfortable. Please see us in the office if we can do anything.
